Self-Help Tip #4: Take Care of Your Oral Hygiene

PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT Medical advice. Please read disclaimers.

 Have you ever had:

  • A cracked crown?
  • Root canal to replace infected tooth pulp?
  • A surgery to replace gum recession?
  • MORE fillings for cavities in your 'sweet teeth'?

If not - pray you'll never have to . . . Trust me! I had to endure ALL of these procedures over the past few years.

So I've enhanced my care routine to be more palatable, thorough (and hopefully effective!):

  1. "Reduce sugar intake"
  2. Use a Tongue scraper
  3. Use less stringent / more flavorful mouthwash - (I like cinnamon clove :)
  4. "Use flossing picks" (I like the ones with the double line)
  5. Brush with a soft-bristle toothbrush (or sometimes an electric toothbrush)
  6. (I've also been having appointments at a dental school - where students are on their best behavior, and you can learn along with them).

"Proper dental care is necessary to avoid painful and unsightly gum disease, tooth loss, and expensive reconstructive surgery. Studies also suggest a connection between oral health and heart disease."

Have any tips or products YOU like, for avoiding tooth decay, bad breath - (and dentures)!?

☮️ & ❤️,

Shannon
