Self-Help Tip #33: Consult A Guru

PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT Medical advice. Please read disclaimers.

Whether you're seeking enlightenment, perspective, or just some decent conversation, you may be tempted to consult a Guru (derived from the Sanskrit word "venerable").

A Guru is "a person with great intelligence who usually dispenses advice[or] spiritual guidance via oral teachings in an attempt to enlighten students, aka "followers."

These days there are MANY self-proclaimed gurus and "influencers" - so it's VERY important to be discerning.

For example, my friend and I attended a 4-day event hosted by Tony Robbins. Why? He came highly recommended, because he's a well-known author, speaker, and coach, with 45 years of experience. BUT after the 4 days, my friend proclaimed that he found Robbins to be a "huckster," "charlatan," "snake-oil salesman," and "carnival barker" . . . (Yes, all four! Proving that there's no one-size-fits-all!)

So when seeking wisdom from others, you'll want to:

1. Find a likeable "Guru" (I prefer the term "Advisor")

2. Keep an open mind while you ponder their insights

3. Be relatively skeptical

4. Avoid cults - (seriously.)

Ultimately, I believe you're seeking your OWN insight into how you may better yourself." For this reason, my Whole U. process has a heavy emphasis on CO-creation.

I am NOT a Guru . . . and there's no need to climb the Himalayas to find me. But I HAVE been able to support hundreds of clients as they evolve.

Curious to see if Whole U. is a fit?

You can book a call HERE to determine for yourself.

Hoping you find the answers you seek 🙏

Shannon
