Self-Help Tip #31: Unplug

Remember life pre cell phone? Pre laptop? Now we're so tangled up, that it takes a VERY "conscious effort to reduce dependence on technology, by curbing or eliminating the use of digital and electronic devices."  

This weekend I went to my friend's farm in the countryside. I got wake up to the sound of a rooster, instead of an alarm clock. I got to listen to raindrops outside the window, instead of the honking horns of city cars. What a blessing to re-set in nature! If you want to increase your connection to your self, nature, and your community (face to face!) then you'll simply need to: 

  1. Block out some time - (warn friends beforehand)
  2. Turn off electronic devices - (create auto reply functions if necessary)
  3. (Enjoy the silence, the decreased sense of responsibility, and the increased sanity!)
