One Page Resume Essentials

When I review resumes,

the ones that really stand out, are:

  1. One page
  2. Visually appealing
  3. Precise as possible - (No fluffy detail)

The video below outlines my advice for a succinct one page resume.

(Keep your FULL resume too ... but also have a one page "snapshot" of highlights.)

My tips include:

  1. Have a mission or objective statement that summarizes who you are and what you're looking to contribute
  2. Make sure your resume conveys what you care about...  what are your values? What do you stand for?
  3. Don't be afraid of taking anything off the resume - (you can keep it on your Linkedin instead.)
  4. Your "Experience" section should highlight facts, numbers and results (try to quantify your contribution and impact.)
  5. Align yourself with the company you'r applying to.
  6. Don't underestimate yourself and your abilities.
  7. Have an appealing template.
  8. Make text bulleted, with words that really matter.
  9. Be mindful of what you say yes to! You must be aligned with a job that you actually care about.
  10. Be 100% authentic and honest on all your documents.
