One Page Resume Essentials
When I review resumes,
the ones that really stand out, are:
- One page
- Visually appealing
- Precise as possible - (No fluffy detail)
The video below outlines my advice for a succinct one page resume.
(Keep your FULL resume too ... but also have a one page "snapshot" of highlights.)
My tips include:
- Have a mission or objective statement that summarizes who you are and what you're looking to contribute
- Make sure your resume conveys what you care about... what are your values? What do you stand for?
- Don't be afraid of taking anything off the resume - (you can keep it on your Linkedin instead.)
- Your "Experience" section should highlight facts, numbers and results (try to quantify your contribution and impact.)
- Align yourself with the company you'r applying to.
- Don't underestimate yourself and your abilities.
- Have an appealing template.
- Make text bulleted, with words that really matter.
- Be mindful of what you say yes to! You must be aligned with a job that you actually care about.
- Be 100% authentic and honest on all your documents.
