Encouraging clients & their life's work.
Licensed Financial Strategist
What is your "life’s work,” and how do you hope to positively influence others?
I like to call myself a financial strategist. I help families strategize their current financial income, which will better their financial present and future. This includes teaching financial concepts and habits that will aim them towards their goals. I inspire our clients to make the right decisions. Sometimes I am the "good guy," and sometimes I am the "bad guy," but in the end, I always end up being the best decision my clients have ever made.
How have your top 5 values influenced your career path?
My faith greatly influenced my career path. It’s my reason ‘why’ I stay inspired, and encouraged to do what I do. I love to help people. I love to motivate individuals and watch personal development take place. I am surrounded by my family and I help others take better care of their families. I’m constantly having to work on myself in order to give my all to clients and my team. Teaching financial concepts is not something that is taught in school. To be able to do this, is something purposeful, and plays a part in every season of a person's life. I’m honored to be a part of it.
What is unique about you? (e.g. hobby, skill, personal history, etc.)
I love puzzles. And I like to sew. I like cutting patterns out, getting a matching color thread and other accessories, and sewing the pieces together to become something that is useful. I love colors and putting pieces together. In addition, I volunteer at my church as a youth Sunday school teacher.
What drew you to work with Whole U., and what was the most empowering insight you gained through the process?
I needed a change. I obviously wasn’t making the right choices job wise, and I knew there was more out there then what I was choosing. I wanted to see what I was missing, and why I was getting jobs that I wasn’t happy in. I didn’t want to only work for money. I wanted my work to have more meaning behind it than just making money. I wanted work that if I wasn't getting paid to do it, I would still do it and it would bring me much joy and purpose.
What makes you feel “Whole”? And how do you prioritize “living a balanced purposeful life”?
What makes me feel “Whole” is having work that empowers people to make better choices. I love to encourage and inspire individuals. It is what energizes me. And I how do I prioritize “living a balanced purposeful life”? Well, I keep God first, and everything else seems to fall in place. I already know what my morals and standards are, and what is important to me. It keeps the majority of my choices simple. I keep a set schedule and for the things that just pop up, I put it beside what is important and is it worth interrupting my schedule (and asking if someone else can do it.) And then I make my decisions. Some decisions are harder than that, and for those I seek counsel from my mentors that keep me accountable.
